Grandia II - A Deus Ex Harpa (Second Seal Mix)
Artist's Comments:This is an update to my old Grandia II mix, A Deus Ex Harpa, which was featured on RPGamer's Sound Test ages ago.  For this instrumental arrangement of A Deus, I used lots of strings, piano, woodwinds, and harp, along with some analog synth sounds and acoustic and filtered industrial percussion to bring a deep, thoughtful vibe to the whole song.  Stuff that's been added when compared to the previous version: there's a key change from A minor to C minor which brings the song into a fast section, where percussion plays double-time, and a lot of instrumentation has been changed around and expanded.

Final Fantasy XI - La Marcha Final
Artist's Comments:This song is a remix of Vanadiel's theme from Final Fantasy XI.  I don't usually make orchestral Remixes but I thought it would be nice to try it with this song.  I made this song for the People's Remix Competition #61 that is being held at the OCRemix boards every two weeks.  Anyways, hope you enjoy it.

> Without music, life is a journey through a desert - Pat Conroy

So, I always wonder what it was about the month of February that made it so short. I mean, what did the founders of the calendar system have against this month. A grudge? Bad blood? Did February cheat on a test and this is the punishment? Sigh, I guess the world will never now.

Now that I got that bit of insightful nonsense off my chest, let's get down to music. A fabulous week for my inbox, as it happens that I actually acquired enough submissions to have, no joke, a real... Backlog. Yea, that's right. I already know at least 1 piece that I will be posting next week. You will have to forgive my excitement, as this is something I dream of every week, and it's nice to see it happen.

However, rather then discuss the backlog, let's talk about what we have this week. Starting things up, we have the recent regular submitter AfxNIN coming back with another mix, this time from the eternal classic Chrono Trigger. A nice mix overall although there are some balance issues in the middle to be considered. Following that, we have the veteran remixer Shariq Ansari, aka Darkesworde, bringing back an older submission from before my time with revitalized life. A Deus Ex Harpe (Second Seal Mix) is an amazing mix, even to someone with no Grandia familiarity such as myself. Lastly, rounding out the bunch is Sir Nuts with his La Marcha Final from FFXI. Despite a trying journey to find its way here to RPGamer, it has finally made it, and I am very glad to hear it here. Excellent work in the face of stiff competition in the PRC. On a side note, I had attempted to put a mix together for the latest PRC, but a cold and fever for the better half of Thursday through the weekend stomped out those plans.

Anyhow, I hope everyone enjoys this week's musical stylings, a varied but exceptionally enjoyable group of pieces. Stay tuned for next week when I will present... Oh, wait. You have to come back next week to find out. Mwhahahaha ::insert Kefka laugh::
