Welcome to round 3 of the Splendid Performance competition. Audition Round 3: Around the Square.
The theme of this round is rather simple. The submissions for this round may NOT be from a "Square" game. No square, squaresoft, square-enix. I do want to specify that Enix games that were in production before the square-enix merger are fair game. Sample games that are blacklisted are Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger and Xenogears. Sample games that are perfectly ok are Star Ocean, Dark Cloud, and Skies of Arcadia. Should there be any questions regarding this theme, please email the curator. Good luck and I look forward to a bounty of submissions.
And the third round ends with some super high scores. Coming out on top, with two near perfect scores is Michael Zasadzinski's Prelude. Coming in just behind is the ever tenatious Rexy with her piece Time's Anxiety. Finshing out the top three, just barely pulling ahead of the rest of the pack, is Nick Tam with his Fourside Hilton. I may say it to often, or it might sound cliche, but the entries this round were all superb. The judging was fierce and difficult, with alot of time spent nit-picking for final numbers.
I thank everyone who entered and look forward to the next and final audition round. Remember, if you haven't made the cut yet, it will be your last chance. And even to those of you who have obtained a final round slot, I would encourage you to enter anyway, to keep your skills sharp and maybe even getting a second entry slot for the final round!
A final thanks before I go to Karlinn, editorals master, for stepping in as a judge at the last minute when my original choice for judge couldn't do it.
