Welcome to round 2 of the Splendid Performance competition. Audition Round 2: In the Band.
In this round of the competition, the theme was for submissions to have a small band making the music. For examples, I meant bass+guitar+drums(rock), or drums+bass+sax+trumpet+piano(jazz), bass+guitar+drums+horns(ska), etc. The instruments may have been sequenced or recorded live, with a limit of 3-8 'members' to the band.
And here are the results of this round. Coming in first with a resounding high score is Patrick Waters with his jazzy Fields of Beryl. Coming in 2nd is with his saucy Final Fantasy tango arrangement in Bladiator. Pulling up at third is the rockin' Atonement remix of Magus' theme from Chrono Trigger done by Darangen.
While the competition may have been small, it was some very fierce, very close competition. I thank all who participated and invite you all to come back again for rounds 3 and 4, as well as I look forward to seeing those who placed in the top three in the finals this fall. A final thanks goes to Ed 'Foxworth' Walker for judging this round of the contest.
