Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past - Gameroom
Artist Comments: It's the music they play when you walk into the game room (the one where you shoot at targets with your arrows).

Dhsu and Blak_Omen
Super Mario RPG - Waltz of Pain
Artist Comments: This particular submission a collaboration that I worked on with Blak_Omen; he made the actual arrangement, and I performed it with a few slight modifications. I don't have a sheet music of my actual performance, but I might end up making it if there's enough demand. The actual theme is primarily associated with Mallow. Imagine, if you will, learning that your entire life has been a lie. That you are, in fact, not a tadpole, nor have ever been. Realizing this, you sit down at your piano, still in shock. And you begin to play a slow, sad waltz. A waltz...of pain.

Chrono Cross - Where Force Stood Still
Artist Comments: After showing my role as a judge in Sonic Revolution I wanted to repay the favor by submitting something myself. :) What I've done is a piano arrangement of "Frozen Flame"; it was originally meant to be a Radical Dreamers mix given the inclusion of "Dreams of the Shore Near Another World", but I feel it'll work better if aimed for the masses. This was performed in F Minor - one of my favorite scales when it comes to playing music - and the structures throughout its five minute duration are filled to the brim with a wide variety of emotions. Have fun listening.

> A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a song speaks novels.

Another week has come and gone, and this past week so the end of the, in my mind, enormously successful Sonic Revolution. If you haven't checked out the results, you can do so here. It was a ridiculusly close competition, and I want to thank everyone who helped me with it and everyone who entered. I look forward to more submissions from all the competitors in the coming future, be they for a contest of not.

Given the success of Sonic Revolution, I plan to run another contest very soon. It may not be of the same magnitude that this was, but I'm a college student and the funding for this kind of thing doesn't grow on trees. I have a few ideas that I'm kicking around, so you will just have wait until next week to find out. Also, before I go any further, I just want to mention that if your a music enthusist and you like final fantasy, and you don't yet own one or both of The Black Mages albums, you need to do yourself a favor and get them. Now. Just be forewarned that if you pick up the second one, the vocals may shock you. That is all.

With this weeks submissions we have a midi transcription of the gameroom theme from Zelda: A link to the past. Then we move into what appears to be piano remix week at RPGamer, with two amazing piano remixes, one a collaboration of Dhsu and Blak_Omen of Overclocked remix and another by the fantastic Sonic Revolution judge Rexy, of Vgmix fame. I love the work here in both pieces, since i can listen to piano music forever and be happy. I also appreciate, and support, the fact that these artist, despite being posted on other sites in the remix community, still submit to here. It helps get the music out, which is good for the listener and the artist. I encourage other remixers to do the same and submit anything and everything they have to Sound Test. Its just one more outlet for people to listen to your work.

And so, I bring this week to a close. I would like to mention that neither barieuph nor I have recieved any questions for a possible FAQ for remixing. As he said last week, if there are no questions, its hard to give answers. So send those away. Also, if you have and questions or suggestions or anything in that neighborhood, please make sure to put [sound test] in the title of the email. Its hard to sort through all the spam, and I only ever look for the words music, sound test and submission. With that I've said my piece. Time to get back to work on Xenosaga 2 and some behind the scenes sound test work. But mostly Xenosaga 2.
