Xenosaga - XenoSonata Episode 1: Nephilim
Artist's Comments: I've decided to call this a vintage recording because due to some hardware and software issues with my current computer I was forced to use an old cassette recorder. The first piece is Nephilim, the theme by Yasunori Mitsuda for the girl of the same name. This recording is made by my MIDI Keyboard for lack of an accompanist and myself on the Violin. Enjoy and stay tuned!

Final Fantasy VI - Left Behind in Narshe
Artist's Comments: A prepared piano ternary daydream. Endlessly boring days in Narshe.

Dragon Warrior IV - Tomato Rag (Sheet music)
Artist's Comments: Those who know what to expect in my piano works will be able to know me that little bit differently. What I've done here is that I've taken the town music for Dragon Warrior IV (or Dragon Quest IV in Japan) and performed it in an upbeat ragtime fashion. It's also a little bit shorter than what I usually do with my music, but I still feel it worked well enough as a performance experiement that went down fine as a joke tune in the recent Dwelling of Duels competition. Enjoy, and if you don't like it I will spray salad cream right into your face :P

> A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a song speaks novels.

Well, only one week after the competition announcement, I recieve 3 submissions, all which feature piano to some extent. Amusingly the submissions start out going from abstract to more standard. The first piece this week is from RPGamer's resident sound engineer and composer, Matt 'Barieuph' Russo. Besides the blurb above, he has a few words to say about this piece here.

Barieuph:

This is the first of a six-part piece for Violin and Piano. I hope to bring you a new episode every 2-3 weeks here at RPGamer. When all 6 pieces are complete, a full compilation will be released, without any stops, with high-quality performances.

Redbeastmage:

Following up Matt's piece is the first submission for Splendid Performance, a short piano piece by Godemp. Rounding out the submissions is a piece from Rexy, a shorter then average tune for her that is very light and enjoyable.

I hope everyone enjoys this week's pieces and is working on submissions of their own for the Splendid Performance competition. For now, I must run, as finals are closing in on me faster then I would like to think about. I will retrun next week, a much less stressed out sound test curator. That, or I will be dead. Kinda hoping for the first option.
