First off, I would like to apologize for my running so late with the updates these past few weeks. My job, the one that pays for all my gear, has been keeping me busy for 8 hours (6pm-2am) every wednesday night. That and school are a bad combination for getting an effective update done. I promise, updates will be more timely, up at a decent hour of the day from now on.
That said, this week we have two excellent entries. First is a very interesting submission by Seth Brown, which is the Thunder Plains music from FFX done in a style akin to the dungeon music from Saga Frontier 2. Very interesting, very neat. Keep the remixes coming Seth. Next we have the second entry from RPGamers resident composer and my esteemed co-worker, Matt 'barieuph' Russo. Matt brings us a piano solo version of Fear of the Heavens from Secret of Mana. I can't say much other then that it is excellent work. I only wish the piano sound was a little fuller, and more authentic.
Now is the time you have all been waiting for. I would like to introduce this months challenge, and when I say challenge, I am not kidding. The challenge for this month is... remix a song from a PC or X-Box RPG! Mwhaha. Ahem. Yea, I thought this would be a good way to get some unremixed games some much needed love. I encourage everyone to try, and although there is no official announced prize, I will have some sort of reward or another for the best qualifying remix I recieve. What is it? You'll have to win to find out.
For this week, all is said and done. Enjoy the music, think about the challenge and get to work!
