Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Song of Storms |
Artist Comments: A storm approaches - first occurs a few raindrops, then a downpour. From thence, the eye, followed by the storm's other side. As the tempest recedes, the clouds part to let in the sun's rays, a drop of water falls from a rain-soaked leaf onto a still puddle... I give credit where it is due; thus, my sincerest thanks to a dear friend, aka Kouen, who did the rendering.

Legend of Zelda: Adventure of Link - Title Theme |
Artist Comments:I wanted the challenge of arranging something from the 8-bit era to demonstrate my chops on orchestration. I also love writing for the orchestra and try to write it the way Koji Kondo hopefully envisioned the tune. I sequenced my piece in Digital Performer using sample libraries from East West and Vienna Symphonic Orchestra. I did some mastering in Peak Pro 5.2. Thanks for taking a listen!

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - Sage Fodo & Raruto
|
Artist Comments: This is a pseudo-electronica remix of Sage Raruto and Fodo's theme from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, conceived in the style of a piano concerto, in which I used classical forms and structures to guide the music along.

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Ballad of the Wind Fish
|
Artist Comments: This comes from the Ballad of the Wind Fish. Well, it IS Ballad of the Wind Fish, just rearranged. Not even very rearranged. It's got one bar of 5/4, though, (repeated), so I guess it's kinda different... Try to find it! It's all sneaky!
It was made in Finale 2007c, a product of MakeMusic! (yes, the exclamation mark is part of their name...) and saved as a .wav file. Then I used a trial version of Acoustica wav-to-mp3 converter to get it into the correct format. Enjoy it (or not, maybe this type of music isn't your cup of tea...)

Finally, It comes to an end! The finale of Round 1 is upon us. Above are the five submissions we received for this round. I think they're all great. You'll hear how I feel about them next week. For the time being just stay put and listen to them. We should have a reader judging form up in a few days, so keep your eyes peeled on the site index.
Thank you to all who entered, and I hope more people enter the next round (which I can just tell you now is going to be sweet!) The next round's theme announcement and Round 1 results will come next week. For those of you that want can check up on the Round 1 "The Shy but Courageous One" official page.
Have a great week.
