"Music is the universal language of mankind."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Outre-Mer
Concerto for Solo Violin, Strings, and Harpsichord with Basso Continuo in F-sharp minor (Krebs) - II. Andante
Francis "Fermat's Last Theorem" Gayon Parasite Eve | Se Il Mio Amore Sta Vincino

...or simply "Krebs Concerto," if you find that voluminous title too tiring to recite. This piece was actually started earlier than the Windurst Waltz, but ended up getting finished later since I got "composer's block" in the third movement.

This movement is closest to the original piece out of all three movements. Se Il Mio Amore Sta Vincino is a lyric piece to begin with and was perfect for a second movement, so I just tweaked it a little—changed the melody here and there, put repeats, etc.

This mix may not be for everyone since it's in a quasi-Baroque style—like something straight out of Vivaldi's repertoire, but I still hope that you'll give it a try.

Composed using Sibelius 4 and rendered by Kouen using SONAR 6 Producer Edition. The GPO samples for a Stradivarius used for the solo violin are quite lovely, no?

Goodness me! I'm going to experience my first weekend since classes started in June! Even though most of that period will still be spent finishing requirements (The Department of Medicine continues to haunt me and my classmates.), it's quite nice to spend some time being a relative bum. I can finally catch up on some composing. During the entire four-month span, I've produced a meager three pieces with just one of them being usable for Sound Test.

As for this update's piece, it's a relatively sublime one. It is the second of three parts, or "movements," for the Krebs Concerto. Traditionally, the second movement is slow, but there have been deviations from this and it didn't really hurt the piece as a whole. The third movement, also in allegretto, or "moderately fast," like the first movement, will be featured in the near future. As I said in the last update, this is in the Baroque style which is centuries old, and some people may not like this, but I do hope you give it a chance.

Well, I'll bum around now, guys, and relish this brief reprieve from my hospital duties. Enjoy the weekend! Take care, guys!

P.S. Hmm, nobody's tried to explain why it's "Krebs" yet... Maybe I should give two cookies?
