A storm approaches - first occurs a few raindrops, then a downpour. From thence, the eye, followed by the storm's other side. As the tempest recedes, the clouds part to let in the sun's rays, a drop of water falls from a rain-soaked leaf onto a still puddle... I give credit where it is due; thus, my sincerest thanks to a dear friend, aka Kouen, who did the rendering.

This update shall be short and sweet. As the title of the update suggests, the winner of Round 1 of "The Grand Audition 2009" has been determined. Congratulations to you for a job well done! To the runners-up, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Your submissions were nothing short of wondrous. Go to the round page for the announcement as well as the breakdown of scores.
Now, I thought, what better way to announce the winner of Round 1 than to have last contest's winner in the same round as a fanfare of sorts? For lack of a better analogy, think of it as a beauty queen's final walk on pageant night during which her crown shall be passed on to the new title-holder. Thus, I feature the first piece I've ever submitted to Sound Test: Procella. It also marks my debut in the online music community, so it's a rather important piece for me. For those who don't have a copy of it, grab one now.
Now, artists, take this opportunity to have a breather, or perhaps concoct a short submission for the regular updates? Check back next week to see what the next round has in store for you. It's bound to be... elevating. Yes, that was a hint.
