14.10.02 - Cheongsangeseo Mannacha

And one week later another update for all. This week we've got a lot of classical-styled tunes, though we do have a few other styles thrown into the mix. Kudos to Matthew Valente for his usage of the Gameboy Advance sound system for four of his songs. Also, we have the first piece of sheet music submitted since I've moved into the music position.

On to (somewhat) old business. Two people, within about 10 minutes of each other, figured out the source of last week's title. They are Matt Bryant and Kid Tracker."Lovely Head" is the first song on Goldfrapp's album Lovely Head. This week is going to be obscure unless you just happen to enjoy listening to lots of Asian music like me; it is a popular group though, so that should make it easier.

That pretty much wraps it up for this week. Keep the music coming and either next week or the week after I'll initiate a new remake challenge. Remember kiddies, the bluegrass one is still going on.

This week's audio picks

At the World's End (Terranigma)
Benefit of the Boomerang

You could call this a remix, but it's more like a revisit.
It has an extended intro and a different instrumentation which I found more suitable for such a well-balanced and harmonic song as this.

Climax of Grayland Case vs. Wivern Scene (Vagrant Story)
Thomash Lee

Vagrant Story has many elegant boss battle bgm composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, this is one of them. I choose it to seqence because it's the easy one, other like Alien Man and Nightmare are extreme difficult to sequence.

Aeris's Theme (Final Fantasy VII)
L. Spiro

Written as a request from Icelandic Babe.

Main Theme (Instrumental) (Lunar: Eternal Blue)
Mathew Valente

This one took a week, I was going for accuracy and I think I got it, though there may be some issues with the tempo. I really did try hard for this one. :D Hope you all like!

Wind's Nocturn (Japanese Version) (Lunar Silver Star Story Complete)
Mathew Valente

This one took a few weeks, the first of two versions.(Japanese and English) I dedicated these songs to my friend Tasha Marston (known to some as Sylph), because she showed me a Flash movie of a kitten singing in the box, blahblahblah, I'm sure everyone knows about it by now. At any rate, when I found out what game it was from, and when I found out all about the song, I had to remake the Japanese version. Mute channel 12 if you want to sing the song à la Karaoke :D

Wind's Nocturn (English Version) (Lunar Silver Star Story Complete)
Mathew Valente

This is the English version of the previous song. Once again, dedicated to Tasha Marston, The only difference between this song and the last is the fact that this one is shorter, the lead was remade to simulate the English version of the song, and it lacks the bridge that the Japanese version contains. Again, mute channel 12 if you wish to sing à la Karaoke. :)

Battle Theme (Lunar: Eternal Blue)
Mathew Valente

I made these songs in real GBA music software from Paragon 5. The specs used were 8KHz with 8 digital channels. All the songs are playable in a real game situation (Unlike the Lunar EB Boss Battle I posted months ago) but I lost my project file due to a hard drive partition failure. :( The songs themselves were modeled after the Sega CD/Saturn versions of the musics, NOT the God-awful Playstation versions.

1st Overworld Field Theme (Lunar: Eternal Blue)

(see above)

Lucia vs. Zophar (Last Boss) (Lunar: Eternal Blue)
Mathew Valente

(see above)

Town Theme (Lunar: Eternal Blue)

The Final Match Approaches (Lunar: Eternal Blue)
Mathew Valente

I made this for my friend Sarah (Some may know as Salah). It turned out pretty much perfect, in my opinion. I went into extensive detail with the guitar in some places, so I hope it turns out satisfactory to some Lunar EB fans's tastes. :) Again, this was remade from the Sega CD/Saturn version of the songs.

Sleep - Close Your Eyelids (Secret of Mana)
blaubeeri

This is a piano version of Sleep - Close Your Eyelids from Secret of Mana, it's very short and pretty easy to play. I also sent in the sheet music to this song.

This week's manuscript picks
