First things first. This update is a week late, basically due to a week of utter chaos and destruction and a number of other bad things happening. I am taking steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again. I came into the music section to have consistent, regular updates, not sporadic, every-now-and-then updates.
That said, this (two) week(s) we have a large number of tunes for your enjoyment. As well we have our first bluegrass remake from the bluegrass remake challenge, and I hear rumors of an RPGamer staff member doing a full recording of a bluegrass arrangement.
In the coming weeks I'm hoping to get a submission page complete with form so that I don't have to be ultra conscious about making sure I have all the information from everyone.
On the bright side of everything, I've completed an application for making updates, so updating should be a lot easier for me, which means I'll be more likely too keep up on schedule. One last thing before I leave you to the music: Wolfie correctly figured out my (apparently fatal) pun and determined that the title from last week (White Pony) was the title of an album by the group Deftones. This week should be a bit harder, though the Brigish may have an advantage.

This is a midi arrangement I made.

Enemy Attack (Final Fantasy X)
Chris Watson
If you don't recognize this, you either 1) have a really bad ear for music, or 2) haven't played the game. It's the generic boss-battle music.

Assault (Final Fantasy X)
Chris Watson
Played later in the game, when Yuna and Seymour [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler] and Tidus & Co have to [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler] by [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler] while the [spoiler] all go [spoiler] [spoiler] in a [spoiler]. I'm not sure what this song is actually CALLED, since the official soundtracks call it "Assault" while the Sphere Theatre at Luca says it's named "Attack." /I/ think it should be named "Spoiler City." ;)

Bluegrass Fields (Final Fantasy VIII)
Kid Tracker
I had a look at the music section, and saw that my MIDI was there, and a heap of MP3's were there too. But what i didn't see was a blugrass remix!! So, I decided to make one just for the fun of it. All i did was change the instruments but hey, how else am I supposed to make bluegrass remixes? My website is here.

Further Away (Final Fantasy VIII)
Gwilym Wogan
Probably my strangest remix ever, this is a version of 'Fear', the training centre music. Clocking in at around 9 minutes, this is for the most part darkly slow-moving and ambient, but it jumps in and out of various other styles, like a 'mystery vibes' section, an electro-funk-jazz section, and even an improv FF4 organ solo. I think they keep the song alive. While this has already been released elsewhere, very few people left comments, so I'd still really like to hear some opinions.

Farewell ... Star Guardian (Super Mario RPG)
Russell Cox
This is an arrangement of the first third of the ending sequence. I wrote it as to instill a sense of childhood rememberance when listening. The celeste in the beginning may remind you of either Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" or John Williams's score to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"

Melodies of Life (Final Fantasy IX)
Matt1plus1
This remix itself sounds okay, I suppose. It's hard to judge one's one work..it won't hurt your ears, but I doubt it'll be winning any awards. ^_~

Melodies of Life (Final Fantasy IX)
Mandy Roberts
Here's my rendition of Melodies of Life. I used the piano collections version as the accompaniment and just sang along. This has always been one of my most favorite vocal video game song and it was fun to record.

Cry in Sorrow (Final Fantasy IV)
Gianpiero
This is an arrangement for two guitars of Cry in Sorrow, from Final Fantasy IV. It's in a strange tonality which makes it a bit harder to play, that's because I kept the original tonality because it sounds very good. You can find more of my classical guitar tablatures at my page.
