[03/16/2009] My word! When I posted the hiring call I hadn't expected to receive such a tremendous response. Apologies for the lateness of the column, but when you have sixteen reviews to set up, it tends to bog you down a bit. And that's just the ones I could post. I had to send a handful back due to missing information. I suppose this would be a good time to remind you all to read the submission guidelines. They're there for a reason. In particular, please, please make sure to use the template. I had to send at least three reviews back this week for forgetting information such as screenshots or scores.
For now, however, I suppose I should get some other things out of the way. First of all, I'd like to wish a fond farewell to Ethan "Ethos" Pipher. We might have kidded you about being slow in the past, but you were a valuable asset and you'll be missed. Good luck in the future. I also sadly must announce the upcoming departure of Glenn "7thCircle" Wilson, who we are equally sorry to see go. Glenn still has another review to finish up before he ends his employment.
While our hiring call is ongoing, I can at this time announce two new additions to the review team. The first is Phillip "JCServant" Willis, who is moving to the review department from news. The second is the return of a former review crew member who we're happy to welcome back, Jason "Ishmael" Schreier. The two, possibly three, hiring slots I mentioned last week are still available, so no worries for those who've put their name in. We still need new reviewers.
Once again, a reminder to get your spoof reviews in before April 1st if you want to join in the fun. I've heard some good ideas from people, but so far nobody has sent anything. To all our potential future reviewers, I look forward to seeing what you send me next week.
