[09/21/2008] Whew. You're probably wondering why there was no Points of View column last week. Hopefully what you've seen so far answers that question. I spent the better part of last week completely redesigning the column, and the results are here for your viewing pleasure.
Well, I suppose I better tell you all what's what. In addition to the new layout, I've also added an archive for Ethos's Head to Head brainchild. I will also be posting these as they come in this column each week, for those who may have missed them.
We've also created a new section for Points of View which we are simply entitling Review Blogs. These are, quite simply, blogs that our reviewers will be writing (at their own discretion) as they play through the games they're reviewing. Our hope is that these blogs will provide you all with insight into our thought processes and possibly even serve as a type of preview. For some games we will have to be a little bit more tight-lipped, due to publisher restrictions on what we can and can't say in previews, but we will try to provide as much information as possible. You may even be able to glean bits and pieces of information that may not make it through the editing process for our final reviews. The individual blogs that are currently active will be posted in the "What We're Playing" section you see above.
As for reviews, there are a lot today. From this point forward, I have decided to no longer leave reviews in my backlog and simply post them all as they come. If you send me a review and it is of acceptable quality, it will, without exception, appear in this column the following week. Hopefully this will encourage people to write in with more frequency. In any case, this week we have a whopping twelve reviews: six from staff members, and six from readers, including a new reader reviewer, JCServant. Normally I would list off the games, but there are so many I will just let you find them for yourself.
See you all next week!
