Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will be publishing Koei Tecmo's Nioh in North America and Europe. Along with this announcement, Sony has outlined the different performance modes available for the game, including those available for the PlayStation 4 Pro.
Nioh will offer several different modes of play that will allow for varying levels of framerate and visual quality. The modes available for the PlayStation 4 are:
Movie Mode: 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
Action Mode: 60 frames per second at a reduced resolution.
Movie Mode (Variable framerate): 1080p resolution with a changing framerate as the game requires.
The PlayStation 4 Pro will offer a greater selection of modes:
Movie Mode: 1920x1080 resolution with high-quality anti-aliasing at 30 frames per second.
Action Mode: 1920x1080 resolution at 60 frames per second.
Movie Mode 4K Display: 3840x2160 resolution at 30 frames per second.
Action Mode 4K Display: 1920x1080 resolution at 60 frames per second.
Following the story of a half-Japanese, half-English samurai who travels to Edo-period Japan, Nioh is an action RPG that faces protagonist William against bandits, samurai, and demons. The game will arrive exclusively on PlayStation 4 worldwide on February 9, 2017.
