Pokémon Sun and Moon

The latest update for Pokémon Sun & Moon once again reveals some new critters and characters that set to appear in the games' new region of Alola. In this batch are six completely new Pokémon, two previously-existing Pokémon that have new forms exclusive to the region, and a pair of characters. A new trailer was also released accompanying these latest details.

The first new Pokémon is Silvally, which is the evolution of Type: Null. Silvally is a Normal-type Pokémon by default, but changes type depending on the drive item that is inserted into its head. It comes with the exclusive move Multi-Attack, which changes type to match Silvally's current type. Next up is Hakamo-o, the evolution of Jangmo-o. A Fighting/Dragon-type, Hakamo-o is a solitary Pokémon that enjoys training and itself evolves into Kommo-o, another Fighting/Dragon-type.

Fourth of the new Pokémon is Steenee, a Grass-type and the evolution of Bounsweet. It is said to have an even more appealing smell than its previous form. Steenee can then evolve into Tsareena. This Pokémon is said to be very noble and rules over Bounsweet as their queen. Tsareena comes exclusive new ability Queenly Majesty, which prevents opponents from using priority moves. The last of the new Pokémon is Ribombee. A Bug/Fairy-type, it is the evolution of Cutiefly. It collects nectar and pollen and uses them to create Pollen Puffs, which it launches at its opponent.

The two Pokémon revealed to have new forms in Alola are Grimer and its evolution Muk. The Alolan forms of this two Pokémon are both Poison/Dark-types and come in vastly more colorful forms than their standard counterparts. The two new characters revealed are Olivia and Ilima. Olivia is the kahuna of Akala Island, the second island visited in the game, and has been in that role from a young age. Captain Ilima, meanwhile, is a graduate of the Pokémon trainers school and an expert in Normal-type Pokémon.

Pokémon Sun & Moon are due out for Nintendo 3DS in North America on November 18, 2016, and in Europe on November 21, 2016. A demo for the games is set to be released on the Nintendo eShop on October 18, 2016.
