Final Fantasy XII

Tuesday, October 31, 2006, marks the release of Final Fantasy XII, the latest in the Final Fantasy series by Square Enix, on North American shores. Final Fantasy XII brings innovations to the series with the Active Dimension Battle System, the Gambit System, and the License Board used to develop character skills, abilities and equipment. The North American release also contains new fully voiced cutscenes and true 16:9 widescreen presentation for enhanced graphics on widescreen televisions.

The story of Final Fantasy XII brings players back to the world of Ivalice, from Final Fantasy Tactics. The story begins two years after the fall of the Kingdom of Dalmasca during the invasion of the Archadian Empire. The player takes control of Vaan, a young man from Dalmasca, who soon meets Ashe, the sole surviving heir to the Damalscan throne. Their journey takes them across Ivalice as they unravel the mysteries behind the invasion from the Archadian Empire.

Final Fantasy XII is in stores now for the suggested retail price of $49.99. A Collector's Edition is available at select stores for the suggested retail price of $59.99. The Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy XII comes in a special tin case and includes a bonus DVD containing interviews with the staff, trailers, a history of the Final Fantasy series and other special features. Final Fantasy XII is rated "T" for Teen.
