Sega today announced the Japanese release date for its upcoming reboot of the Valkyria Chronicles series, Valkyria: Azure Revolution. The announcement also came with news that the game would be released on PlayStation Vita in addition to the PlayStation 4 version, with both releases set for January 19, 2017.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution is being developed by Media.Vision and takes place in a new setting separate from the original trilogy of Valkyria Chronicles games. A version 2.0 demo is set to be made available for PlayStation 4 in early October, featuring many changes as a result of feedback to the Battle Demo Ver. 1.0 released with Japanese copies of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. No announcement has been made regarding a western release for Valkyria: Azure Revolution.
