The Pokémon Company detailed six more of the new Pokémon that will appear in the latest pair of titles, Pokémon Sun & Moon. These Pokémon are detailed below and shown in a new trailer, along with a few new features that will be introduced in the games.

The first Pokémon is Wimpod, a Bug/Water-type. It is a scavenger Pokémon that helps to clean the sea and has the new Wimp Out Ability that causes it to flee or swap out for another when its HP drops below half. Second is Bounsweet, a Grass-type Pokémon. It gives off a delicious aroma, meaning many humans let them live inside their homes as an air freshener. Next is the Fairy-type Comfey. It likes to pick flowers to carry around. Like Bounsweet, it also has a pleasant aroma and this results in it being used to help treat Pokémon and people at Pokemon Centers and hospitals.

Fourth in this batch is Mudsdale, a Ground-type horse Pokémon whose legs are coated in protective mud. It can have the new Ability Stamina, which raises a Pokémon Defense stat by one when it is hit by an attack. The penultimate Pokémon is Bewear. This Normal/Fighting-type gives incredibly powerful bear hugs that can split almost anything in two. Finally, there is Mimikyu. This Ghost/Fairy-type spends all of its time hidden under a Pikachu-themed cloth. Its Diguise Ability lets it evade a single attack, after which its appearance is changed.

New features will be added to the Pokémon Global Link service for Pokémon Sun & Moon, with the service set to end its support for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon X & Y. Friendly Competitions will be introduced, letting players create competitions with their own rules, and come in two forms: Online and Live. Online competitions are played over the internet and can include anyone or just pre-approved trainers. Live competitions are played in a local space and work by generating the rules as a QR Code, which can then be scanned by others in order to join. Also revealed was the new Hyper Training function, which lets trainers strengthen their Pokémon even after they've reached level 100. This is done by an NPC named Mr. Hyper using Bottle Caps.

Pokémon Sun & Moon move the series to the new region of Alola, which is based on Hawaii and made up of four natural islands and one artificial island. The game will be released exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America on November 18, 2016, and in Europe on November 23, 2016.
