Bethesda Softworks has revealed that Fallout 3 will see a North American release on October 28, 2008 and a European release on October 31, 2008. Fallout 3 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Games for Windows.

President of Bethesda Softworks, Vlatko Andonov stated, "We are very excited to let gamers get their hands on Fallout 3, the latest chapter in this beloved and highly acclaimed franchise. To meet the huge demand for this title by our fans worldwide, we are planning one of the biggest launches of any game released this year."

To Andonov's credit, Fallout 3 will be available in a normal edition, collector's edition, and Survival edition. The collector's will include a Vault Boy Bobblehead, The Making of Fallout 3 DVD, a hardcover art book, and a Vault-Tec Lunch Box. The Survival edition will include everything from the collector's plus a life-size replica of the Pip-Boy 3000, the wrist-mounted device worn by characters in Fallout 3. RPGamer staff listed Fallout 3 as one of the most wanted games for the second half of 2008 in the July Halftime Report.
