Dragon's Dogma Online

Capcom has announced that it plans to launch a playable alpha in Japan for the upcoming Dragon's Dogma Online. Sign-ups for the alpha will begin on April 7, 2015 and the event will run from April 20, 2015 and April 28, 2015, exclusively on PlayStation 3.

Four classes — the Fighter, the Hunter, the Priest, and the Shield Sage — will be available to choose from during the alpha and players will also be able to have a Pawn. A maximum of four players can explore the different maps present in the demo — White Dragon Temple Reeze, Haidel Plain, Bria Coast, and Mythril Forest — and up to eight players can team up for Grand Missions. Capcom is planning other pre-release tests, the next of which will run on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC this summer, with another cross-platform / stress-test beta planned for sometime after that.

Capcom also dropped some information on two new classes that will playable in the full game. The Seeker is an acrobatic class that focuses on battlefield mobility and hit-and-run melee tactics. Sorcerers will have the highest attack power in the game, but their most powerful spells will require the party to look out for them as the casting times can be long.

Dragon's Dogma Online is a free-to-play online sequel to Dragon's Dogma that releases in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC sometime this year. There are currently no plans to release the game in the West.
