Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

The development team for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has been spending a lot of time at E3 talking a lot about the future of the game, but the biggest announcement they've made is the reveal of a new playable class: the Rogue. It will be a new DPS class that attacks quickly with dual daggers and can add various poisons to its weapons that inflict additional damage. At higher levels, Rogues can acquire the Ninja job, which gives them access to magic hand signs that can be combined in different orders to create various effects. A trailer showcasing what this new class and job can do can be seen below.

The Rogue and Ninja will be released as part of Final Fantasy XIV's patch 2.4, which is going to be a few months off. Other things announced for upcoming patches include player housing and workshops, and a system for letting player characters get married. Finally, the development staff mentioned that A Realm Reborn's first expansion will likely be revealed this fall during some of the fan events they will be holding, but have otherwise been quiet on that subject.

In addition to all of that news, Square Enix released a new trailer for the game. It gives a slightly spoilerific look at some of the most dramatic battles in the main story, and also teases some things to come.
