Digital Store Weekly Round-Up
01.11.2018

RPGamer

Welcome to RPGamer's weekly round-up on releases. This column is a reformatting of our previous digital update column, continuing to providing information on recent releases and sales for RPGs across the digital marketplace. We will no longer be providing a full list of games and prices in sales due to the prohibitive time and effort cost required to do so, but will be giving direct links to those sales so readers can easily check out the listings.

New Releases

  • Artifact Adventure Gaiden (PC via Steam)
  • The Count Lucanor (Vita)
  • Dragon Quest Builders Demo (Switch)

* Unless otherwise specified listed releases above are available in both North America and Europe.

Japanese retro indie game Artifact Adventure Gaiden gets a localisation from Playism, while Baroque Decay's The Count Lucanor hits PlayStation Vita this week. This weekend also sees the start of the open beta for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on PlayStation 4. The beta will be available for PlayStation 4 users with a PlayStation Plus subscription and run from January 12, 2018 to January 21, 2018.

Sales and Discounts

Starting with PlayStation offerings in North America, the Holiday Sale enters its fifth and final week, providing some new offerings and keeping many of the previous sales going for those who didn't pick them up earlier. For PlayStation-owning RPGamers in Europe, the huge January Sale continues with some new additions, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, and various games to be taken off in the next day.

On the Xbox side of things, this week's sales for Gold members include Battle Chasers: Nightwar, ELEX, Crypt of the NecroDancer, and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II (with the Van Helsing III currently available on Games with Gold).

In amongst the numerous titles listed currently on the Steam specials are a few deals that may be of interest to RPGamers, such as 50% off Cosmic Star Heroine and 80% off Lords of the Fallen. GOG.com, meanwhile, has a large number of sales on both classic and recent RPGs including Divinity series, Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity, The Witcher series, and Beamdog's various Enhanced Editions. The Humble Store also brings its own hefty selection in the Winter Sales.
