Sega has announced the release dates for Valkyria Revolution in both North America and Europe. The strategy RPG will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One in North America on June 27, 2017, and then in Europe a few days later on June 30, 2017. The game will be available digitally for PlayStation Vita, physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who buy the first-print run in North America will get the Vanargand Edition, which includes a metal pin and a 12-track soundtrack selection CD. European first-print copies will include the soundtrack selection CD.

Developed by Media.Vision, Valkyria Revolution is a reboot for the Valkyria Chronicles series. The game takes place in a separate universe to the original trilogy of titles and tells the story of the Jutland Kingdom's war against the Rus Empire. The game also takes a new approach to combat, eschewing the turn-based battle system of the previous games in favour of a more active real-time system that aims to retain the strategic nature of the series.
