Final Fantasy XIII Not Coming Overseas Until 2010
01.16.2009

Final Fantasy XIII

North American and European RPGamers' hearts ached nationwide yesterday when Square Enix President Yoichi Wada told Reuters that Final Fantasy XIII would not be making its way outside of Japan anytime this year. Instead, he expects the game to release overseas in the "business year from April 2010 or later."

Final Fantasy XIII was originally planned only for release on the PlayStation 3, but Square Enix announced at E3 2008 that it would also be coming to the Xbox 360 in North America and Europe. The game still remains a PlayStation 3 exclusive in Japan. There is no word on if developing an additional Xbox 360 version caused a possible delay or not. Final Fantasy XIII is expected to release in Japan sometime during 2009, though the specific month or quarter within the year is still unannounced.
