The source is generally recognizable to the source - a bit liberal, but the progressions have worked in reflecting on the atmosphere layered from the original. There's generally a solid link that has been provided all around it; while some of these emphases seem to be a bit artificial for a piano arrangement, the moods have still provided a good reflection upon the skywards setting of the source. I haven't heard a variation of this theme yet so this has to make a firm stand alone mix to fit alongside with other contributions covering this game, although its shortcomings have managed to hinder it here. Mind, much of its strengths are based on a strong amount of variance on the theme - time signature variance at the start was good, as was the key change part way through, so that has worked in providing a flexible ride here. The general structure knowledge is there, however its short can put a few people off; that can show that there didn't seem to be enough going, even though I'm generally surprised at the general compositional effort myself.
Creativity
This is one of the more liberal pieces as placed within the competition, and thus we're in for a fair amount of musical variance from minor keys, accompaniment changes and dramatic riffs as time goes on, so it's got a lot of life upon it. The sections are a bit hard to pinpoint though, and through the first few listens the listener will find it difficult to follow at first. The frantic pace brought all the way through has managed to maintain a rather fresh pace for the audience to experience, so all's good there. The portions of the melody provided throughout have ended up generating some light moments of repetition down the line, but the general notations have still worked in providing a strong and reflective notation all around. The enjoyment factor is there if you're into your piano mixes, I'm sure, however even the strongest of fans may be able to find this grow a bit old given the artificial nature and length brought to it.
Production
The choice of sound itself is shown to be a very realistic production all around, which has worked in providing a strong and majestic motion all around the piece. But even with that in mind the EQs seemed to feel minimal all around, even though I noticed that there is some good amount of foot pedal action when required, thus adding towards the scope of the notes. I can't say much about any recorded elements here, so we can't necessarily go down that path. The sound levels in general are shown to be balanced for a piano arrangement in this caliber, thus emphasizing well upon the dynamics granted right upon the sound itself. And there didn't seem to be much panning from this song in general, although that can be expected; mind, the light stereo field has worked in providing a firm motion to help bring some life to the instrument as shown.

Remix
Excellent and refreshing work, but could be longer and sustain more variation.
Creativity
Extremely impressive technique--unexpected meter changes, inversion of the theme in the bass voice, but runs seem too perfectly even (both in velocity and speed).
Production
Low bass notes a bit washed out; no noticable flaws in production.

Nice work capturing the original while breathing new life into it. I just wish you could have expanded more on it.
Creativity
I like your introduction, a lot, but I really wish I had a chance to enjoy, instead of it pushing right on into the rest of the song. You've done a lot to breath life into a rather simple original piece. The runs in the latter portion of the song are impressive. I'm not totally sold on some of the meter/tempo changes present here. Although they may have been purposeful, I can't help but feel jarred by them, as they hit me as they pass.
Production
Straight up piano mixing. Balance seems preserved, and the panning is all as it should be. How can you go wrong? Well, I would have put some EQ on the lower notes to bring them up. But aside from that, nice production value.
