Rexy

Remix

The track was generally recognizable right from the word go and was shown to be just as steady and tense as the original was, but in a more different sense. The general execution ended up showing a light amount of dissonance down the lines, but the transitions have worked well enough to keep a good hold upon the listener's interest. There's enough variance to be able to make this stand alone, so that can be seen as a firm highlight. There seemed to be a few aspects granted towards some light improvisation, but other than that there didn't seem to be much that varied the source as such. And generally the sections seemed to hold a good structure all around them, although it is felt that most areas seemed to stretch on a bit too long.

Creativity

There has been a fair amount of work granted down the line towards the varied progressions that have in turn shaped the theme well enough to maintain some solid interest, but outside from there this particular aspect is pretty much forgettable. The sections have managed to link together well though, in a very clean setting all the same. The pace has involved a lot of fresh rhythmic work down the line, and given the scopes of the electronica status it has managed to provide a varied rush all around it. However, it has had a key flaw here relating to repetition - the foundations of the first riff of the theme is continually repeated over the general progressive loop, which has in turn provided a serious inflicted amount of damage towards its general scope. But I can say that it's an enjoyable listen if you're an electronica fan, so it's at least worth taking a close look into that way.

Production

The samples are generally fine as they are and have added a good amount of attention to the realist nature for the genre, although looking along here I am not too sure about the chosen drum sounds - they seemed to feel a bit rock-type granted their place here. Mind, I feel the sound processing could do with a bit of thought - some elements were thought to be a bit dry, and the EQs were literally all over the place, although I personally feel the light amount of delay and sustain has worked in broadening upon the scope. I can't say much about any recorded fragments provided here, so there's nothing much to panic about that particular portion. The sound levels here are generally fine and have worked in providing a good sense of balance around most of the melodic instrumentation, but I have thoughts that the drum provisions could have been more balanced. And the panning aspects are shown to be pretty spacious for an electronica piece; a few amounts of experimentations have also been provided down the line, so that has worked well to generate a strong highlight in this section of the arrangement.

?Judge?

Remix

Painfully repetitious, static style throughout with little variation.

Creativity

Lacks (and needs) substantial development of material.

Production

Decent samples, decent balance; no noticable flaws in production.

Redbeastmage

Remix

Presents the source material in an interesting fashion, a new style. Can't really say much else about it.

Creativity

I like this piece, at least for a while. Unfortunately it gets repetitive very quick, and thats not good. Your creativity lacks in your stylistic approach, but allows for to much repetition. Not much else to say, although I begin to think this would have been more enjoyable if it was maybe a bit shorter. Also, the ending is a bit lacking.

Production

I have some issues with the opening balance of this piece. The rhythm unfairly dominates the melody. I understand that the melody is designed to get buried, but never by the percussion. Aside from that, I like the effects you use, and very effective panning.
