Zelda II Overworld Theme
Christian "LemonLime" Floisand Zelda II: The Adventure of Link | Overworld Theme
Author's Comments

Zelda II may be the black sheep among its brethren, but it still has some decent music that is fun to arrange. This is a pretty straight up arrangement of the overworld theme for which the short intro is the only fragment of music that was carried over from the Legend of Zelda.

Greetings, RPGamers, and welcome to another Sound Test update. I will go directly to the subject piece for this update, for an important announcement is coming up later. We are graced with another submission from Christian Floisand. The man seems to be quite a fan of the Legend of Zelda franchise, no? As with his previous submission, he doesn't stray much from the original piece. The samples he used in rendering are also quite nice. Give it a listen, folks! I assure you that you won't regret it.

And now we come to an important announcement. A couple of updates ago, I had stated how it has become rather difficult for me to sustain Sound Test by myself as the number of reader submissions has dwindled significantly. After much thought, I have come to the conclusion that it's about time that the position of Resident Remixer be filled once more...

Thus, with much jubilation and excitement, I announce the beginning of "The Grand Audition 2009."

Now, what does the Resident Remixer do, some of you may be asking. His/Her task is to compose remixes on a semi-regular basis and help out the curator should the need arise. It may seem daunting, but I assure you, it's actually quite fun.

For those not familiar with "The Grand Audition," the former curator Matthew "Barieuph" Russo held a musical competition a couple of years ago to select a Resident Remixer. I was fortunate enough to have won that competition. Upon stepping down, curatorship was handed down to me while the position of Resident Remixer was given to the first runner-up, Wen-Bin "Virtuoso" Tan. Unfortunately, Virtuoso has been out of sight for over half a year for reasons he had not elucidated, so he was dropped from the roster of staff members and the position he held remained empty thus far. I hope that the next Resident Remixer shall not follow the same path.

There will be four preliminary rounds and a final round. Round 1 shall begin shortly. Click on the large image below and you will be taken to the main contest page which contains the details of the competition. It also contains the link for Round 1. Alternatively, you may go directly to Round 1, entitled "Belligerent Youngsters," by clicking here. I'm looking forward to the submissions. The last "Grand Audition" was awesome and the flood of beautiful music was nothing short of extraordinary. The readers seemed to have enjoyed it very much as well.

I suppose that's it. Whew! That was a pretty lengthy update! And I didn't even get to complain about pediatrics! Anyway, have a great weekend!

P.S. There shall be a main "The Grand Audition 2009" thread and separate threads for each of the rounds, all accessible from the main contest page and the round pages. Please do not post about "The Grand Audition 2009" on this update's thread. It shall be exclusively for comments on Mr. Floisand's submission.
