Comment: Love is war, they say - tug-of-war. One of those infamous sorts of just-for-fun doodles you do in the margin of your notes, that somehow you later get the idea to color either for the practice or to just save yourself from boredom. This is one of those that was both.
Title: Island Lad
Game(s): Kingdom Hearts

Comment: Some months old (October, 2005?), so recalling the circumstances of the pic now is a bit fuzzy. Bu-u-ut, I do remember that this picture in particular was experimental for me - a warm-up sketch from one morning that was put into Photoshop to test out some new textures that I'd made. It was also a departure in that, when it comes to the KH set, I usually stick to those from a Final Fantasy. This was one of the first times I ever drew Riku - or any of the KH-exclusive cast.
Title: Man in a Miniskirt
Game(s): Legend of Zelda
Characters: Link
Medium: digital

Comment: I suppose technically it isn't a mini-skirt that he wears, but rather a tunic. But, you know: tomAYto, tomAHto. =P This was an early warm-up sketch one morning that went through the Photoshop treatment for the practice, as I was just coming out of a four month Photoshop abstinence.

Comment: A "method" picture. This is my process - from the original pencilled sketch, the finished and inked artwork, and then finally the completed and Photoshop colored illustration. There are a few pieces that you'd squeeze inbetween here and there, but otherwise you can break down how I create a picture into three steps. It's always fun to take a look into the behind-the-curtain methods of an artist - method pictures are some of my favorites to look at.
