PC RPG of the Year
Baldur's Gate II RPG of the Year

RPGamer has named Baldur's Gate II our PC RPG of the Year. With superior graphics, gameplay, and the strength of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons behind it, it should be no surprise.

Baldur's Gate II expands upon the original plot of Baldur's Gate. Your character is one of many scions of Bhaal, the dead Lord of Murder. The game begins with you imprisoned by a powerful mage, seeking to unleash the power of the god that flows in your veins.

The story of Baldur's Gate II is truly immersive, while at the same time allowing amazing non-linearity. The gameplay is solid, using the now-familiar Infinity engine that worked so well for Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale.

Baldur's Gate II is a milestone in PC RPGs. With a story that puts many console RPG plots to shame and a wonderful combat system, it certainly deserves the title PC RPG of the Year.
