[07/23/00] - Not a heck of a lot to say today; been working lots on playing games for reviews. I've gone through my collection of games I personally own; I own a total of 11 RPGs (I do a lot of borrowing, since I've played over 25 by my last count), and of those 11 RPGs, I've only beaten 5. Gack! That's less than half! Why don't you take a count of yours and I'll post an average next update? Don't forget to send them to Points of View :)
Oh, and the controversial review from last update, for those who were asking, was the Secret of Evermore. Go fig, it seems it has a following ;)
Vanguard Bandits and Evolution 2 should arrive tomorrow, so I'll be busy playing them :) (I actually have a FFIV retroview in progress, too. I have like 5 re(tro)views I wanna do. I'm shooting for one an update, though when the new games come in who knows when I'll have time to write.)
Review Writing BooBoos
"Is there a limit to the amount of reviews I can submit? Is there a limit to the number of reviews a game can have?"
There is no limit to the number of reviews one person may submit, though I do ask that you only send one review per email; I will accept multiple emails at once as long as there isn't more than five in the group. There was a limit of five reviews per game. I have tentatively lifted that restriction. However, I may return it to select games if I find I am only getting reviews for that game in particular. Considering that reviews have to be of good quality to be posted, there shouldn't be too much of a problem with one game getting too many reviews. The one game I expect I may have to cap reviews on will be FFIX, and the tentative number I'm sitting on is ten.
Emulators
I have a personal standard that says emulation isn't the same as playing the real game; many of the review requirements are lacking in such a copy; not to mention the fact that they're basically illegal. I am therefore asking that you please have a *legal* copy of the game before reviewing it. This will be added to the review guidelines. My apologies to those who submitted while this decision was being made.
