The latest installation to the epic Final Fantasy series isn't out just yet, but here at RPGamer we were able to get our hands on an early review copy. It isn't quite complete yet, but we still feel prepared to offer this exclusive review of Final Fantasy XIII, coming soon.

First of all, it's clear that Final Fantasy XIII has an awesome battle system. The main character girl can equip a gun that transforms into a sword. There are a bunch of bars in the bottom left corner that do menu-based functions, and some more bars on the bottom of the screen that do combat-related things. Enemies attack you fast and your character jumps around a lot.

The song in Final Fantasy XIII is pretty cool but the visuals are kind of lame. I mean, they're beautiful and all, but there are so many different images all happening at once that it's basically impossible to figure out what's going on.

Final Fantasy XIII is ridiculously short; in fact, it will only take you a minute and thirteen seconds to beat. It's also one of the easiest games I've ever played. There's one point where a huge monster appears and you may get worried that he's going to defeat you, but thankfully, the game ends just in time.

Final Fantasy XIII has the best localization of any Final Fantasy game to date; there isn't a single translation error. The interface is easy to get a hang of; it's unclear why two vertical lines defends, a square flees, and a sideways triangle attacks, but once you figure out what does what, the game is easy to play.

The story of Final Fantasy XIII is even more confusing than Final Fantasy VII. Our main character is attacked by beasts and some evil soldiers, and visits some cool space platforms and jungles. It's unclear what her motivations are, however, and the story is pretty shallow, albeit original.

What? Okay, fine, we didn't get a review copy. We just reviewed the trailer. Happy now? Jerks.
