Following a short countdown on a teaser website, Nihon Falcom has officially announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV. Like the previous game, Trails of Cold Steel IV is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 4. It is scheduled to be released in Japan in fall 2018.

Trails of Cold Steel IV follows the events of Trails of Cold Steel III, and will conclude the Cold Steel subseries that takes place in Erebonian Empire. The company released some screenshots of various characters appearing in the game; these can be considered major spoilers for the game and other titles but can be viewed here.
