Indie Update: Nineteenth Edition
11.03.2017

MANAGING EDITOR

Indie Games

We return with the nineteenth edition of our series designed to help RPGamer cater to the ever-increasing number of indie titles that our staff regrettably does not have the resources to provide full coverage to. The idea of this column is to quickly pass on the word about certain games to our readers that they might otherwise not be made aware of, and we hope both readers and developers find this useful.

This edition of our indie update column features the following titles: Arelite Core, Numantia, Willy-Nilly Knight, and Questr.

Brief Updates:

  • Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark (KS Check-in) successfully reached its campaign goal.

Arelite Core

One-man developer Dragon Slumber has released a free update for its PC RPG Arelite Core. Titled Lleana's Journey, the update includes a new story chapter set during the campaign following the character Lleana during her time away from the main protagonist Karden. The update also adds in a new Grind Mode difficulty for both the main campaign and Lleana's journey. Arelite Core was released in February 2017 and is available through Steam.

Numantia

Spanish studio RecoTechnology's historical strategy title Numantia is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is set during the 154BCE Second Celtiberian War in Iberia between the Roman Republic and the allied Celtic tribes of Numantia. Numantia features turn-based strategy using a hexagonal grid as well as various historical figures and events such as Carus of Segeda, General Scipio, and the siege of Numantia.

Willy-Nilly Knight

Double Dice Games announced that Willy-Nilly Knight will be fully released for PC and Mac on November 10, 2017. Previously covered in this column, the game has been in Early Access since May. Willy-Nilly Knight is a humorous take on the tale of King Arthur and other British folklore. The game combines tactical combat with open-world exploration, and will feature cooperative multiplayer.

Questr

Following time on Early Access, Mutant Entertainment Studios' Questr has fully released on Steam for PC and Linux. The game sees players forming parties by swiping left or right on prospective members before venturing out on various quests filled with encounters. Questr is available for $14.99/€14.99/£10.99.
