Yakuza Kiwami 2

Sega released some new details for Yakuza Kiwami 2, its upcoming remake of Yakuza 2, providing information about new options for the Nightlife Island and new Clan Creator features. Nightlife Island originally appeared in Yakuza Zero and returns in Kiwami 2, with players attempting to win the Cabaret Club Grand Prix.

The Cabaret Club Grand Prix is a competition to determine the top cabaret club in the nation, with club owner Yuki returning from Yakuza Zero. Kiryu meets up with Yuki, who decides to enter the competition as a last desperate measure to keep her club in business. Acting as club mananger, Kiryu needs to assign hosts to customers based on the customers' preferences and the hosts' skills. The Grand Prix is divided into four leagues, winning a league allows Kiryu to challenge that league's champion.

Meanwhile, the Clan Creator is a returning feature from Yakuza 6 where two groups fight against each other. In Yakuza Kiwami 2 these fights take place at Majima Construction, which is owned by Goro Majima, and has become a more defensive real-time strategy minigame as rival forces attempt to encroach on Majima Construction.  Players can select nine workers for missions, and can also spend money upgrading the construction site's defences.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is set one year after the events of the first Yakuza game, which itself was remade as Yakuza Kiwami. In addition to the original story, an extra scenario starring Majima Goro is included that continues story threads introduced in Yakuza Zero. The game will release on PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 7, 2017. There is currently no information about a western release.
