Square Enix revealed that the remaster of Star Ocean: The Last Hope will be released for PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam) in North America and Europe. Announced in Japan last week and officially titled Star Ocean: The Last Hope 4K & Full HD Remaster, the game will be released globally on November 28, 2017, priced at $20.99 with a 10% discount on Steam and for PS Plus users until December 12, 2017. Those who purchase the game on Steam before December 12, 2017, will receive a downloadable mini-soundtrack while those who purchase the game on PlayStation 4 before January 8, 2018, will receive a theme and twelve avatars.
The fourth Star Ocean game, Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a prequel to the rest of the series. The game was originally released for Xbox 360 in 2009, and later for PlayStation 3 in 2010 as Star Ocean: The Last Hope International. The game follows Space Reconnaissance Force member Edge Maverick as he embarks on a mission to look for a new planet to relocate Earth's population to in the aftermath of World War III.
