Nintendo has released a new trailer for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions that focuses exclusively on the latter part of the game's title. Bowser's Minions is an unlockable game mode that acts as a side story for what happens to Bowser as told through the eyes of the minions attempting to rescue him. It has been known that the mode would have unique gameplay, but now there is a bit more information on how that would work.

In Bowser's Minions, players will construct teams of up to eight units to compete in head-to-head, real-time battles. The goal of the match is to defeat the enemy's captain, who acts as a leader and can affect the battlefield in unique ways. The captain can give commands, provide buffs for the units, or utilize abilities that allow them to interact directly with the battlefield.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions is a remake of the original title in the Mario & Luigi series set to release for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available in both North America and Europe on October 6, 2017.
