THQ Nordic and King Art Games have officially released The Dwarves on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Dwarves is a real-time tactical RPG based on the novels by Markus Heitz. In the game, players will take control of a dwarf named Tungdil. Tungdil was raised by humans and wishes to explore the lands of Girdlegard firsthand.

Combat will consist of one of fiteen characters fighting against giant hordes of enemies. One of these characters is Djerun, a guardian that towers over enemies on the battlefield. Due to his immense size and heavy armor, Djerun is a slow attacker with devastating damage and crowd control, to the point where his attacks can even harm his allies.

Update — A launch trailer was also released today. The video, viewable below features the game's theme song "Children of the Smith", performed by German metal band Blind Guardian.
