Bandai Namco recently announced a Japanese release date for its latest mainline Super Robot Wars game, Super Robot Wars V. The game is set for release in the country for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on February 22, 2017. Bandai Namco previously confirmed that the game will be receiving an English-subtitled release in Asia sometime in 2017.
The news also comes with the first full-length trailer for the game, which as is usual for the series focuses primarily on showing off the roster of characters and mecha. New franchises that will be making their first appearances in the crossover tactical RPG series — along with mainstays such as Gundam and Full Metal Panic — include Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Cross Ange. The game will also feature two original protagonists named Soji Murakumo and Chitose Kisaragi.
