Koei Tecmo released a set of new screenshots and artwork for its upcoming North American and European release of Nights of Azure. These new images focuses on the types of weapons available to main protagonist Arnica, as well as introducing some more characters in the game.

Arnica is a member of a knightly order known as the Curia. She can choose from five types of weapons in the real-time battle system: including a gun, hammer, and longsword. Arnica also has abilities stemming from having some demon blood in her veins and is the only known person to touch the Azure blood and survive. These special abilities also offer Arnica the power to summon monsters to assist her.

Arnica and her friend Lilysee are not the only important characters in the game, however. Three of them can be found at the hotel that Arnica uses as her base of operations. Simon is the hotel's manager and has a special connection to the Curia, Professor Alucard is a doctor who always provokes Arnice, and Lloyd is a scavenger who trades with others at the hotel's café. There is also an elder knight named Corinne, who Arnice regularly visits at the art museum to seek advice.

Not all the game's characters are human. There is Christophorus, a pure-blooded demon who hangs around in the opera house with a penchant for popping up to share her thoughts at random moments. Mistral is another pure-blooded demon who seems to pose no threat to humans. She lives at the palace and appears to no longer have any plans to search for the soul of the Nightlord, the demon overlord.

Nights of Azure is a new IP from the Atelier and Ar nosurge developer Gust and was originally released in Japan in August 2015 under the title Yoru no Nai Kuni for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. The game is planned to be released only on PlayStation 4 in North America on March 29, 2016 and in Europe on April 1, 2016.
