Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Dark Souls III, which offers new gameplay footage and confirms the game's release date for April 12, 2016 for both North America and Europe. Additionally, information about the game's special editions have been released and, as with previous titles in the series, North America and Europe will be recieving slightly different Special Editions.
In North America, Dark Souls III will have a Day One Edition that all buyers will get for pre-ordering, which includes:
A copy of Dark Souls III with a Day One Edition Sleeve
A CD of the game's official soundtrack
A starter's guide created by Prima Games
The North American Collector's Edition will come with everything in the Day One Edition, minus the sleeve, and will also include:
A cloth game map
10" Red Knight statue
An art book
Metal case and collector's box
The Day One Edition will retail at the standard $59.99 price point, while the Collector's Edition costs $129.99.
In Europe, there are three editions of the game, with exclusivity for certain retailers. The Apocalypse Edition comes with the game, a CD soundtrack, and a metal case. The Collector's Edition is similar to the one in North America but with the addition of three iron-on patches and the exclusion of the Prima starter's guide.
A third premium version of the game, called the Prestige Edition, which has everything in the European Collector's Edition along with another statue, a 40cm Lord of Cinder Resin Statue. No prices have been given for the the European special editions at this stage.
