After a few months spent in Early Access, the first part of action RPG Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms releases today. Titled Book I: Devourer of Souls, the game acts as a sequel to 2004's Kult: Heretic Kingdoms — Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition in North America — where you play as a demon, the titular Devourer, who can control the souls of the dead and turn them into playable party members. The Devourer is also capable of changing between the normal world and the world of shadow.

Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is available on Steam or GOG for $29.99/£22.99/€29.99, though for the first week of release it will be offered at a 20% discount. Book II: Age of Demons is planned for February 2015 as a free update for those who purchase the game.
