Sword Art Online: Lost Song

Bandai Namco has announced Sword Art Online: Lost Song, the third game in the Sword Art Online series. The game will take place on Svart ALfheim, a new floating continent located in the world of ALfheim Online, the setting for the second half of the first anime season and the second arc of the manga.

The company has released an English subtitled teaser trailer for the game, viewable below, which shows protagonists flying freely through the skies between smaller island continents. Aerial battles are a new gameplay feature in Lost Song, although the land-based battles and dungeon crawling gameplay featured in Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment are also set to make a return.

The game will also be localized in English for the Asian market. Producer Yosuke Futami has promised that the localization for Lost Song will be better than that of Hollow Fragment, the quality of which was a point of contention in our review of the game and was one of the major criticisms received from fan feedback.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song will be released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on March 26, 2015, and in Asia in English sometime in 2015. A western release is yet to be announced.
