BioWare Austin has announced the second digital expansion for its MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Shadow of Revan will be released on December 9, 2014 for $19.99, with different bonuses provided for those who pre-order depending on when it is ordered.
Those who pre-order before November 2, 2014 will receive one week of early access; an in-game Revan Statue to display in their stronghold; and the first expansion, Rise of the Hutt Cartel (which is already available free to paying subscribers). Those who pre-order before December 9, 2014 will receive the in-game Revan Statue as well as the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion. Any paying subscribers who pre-order the expansion will also receive a 12x experience boost while playing class story missions, with the boost effective up until December 1, 2014.
Shadow of Revan expands the game's level cap from 55 to 60. It also includes new Flashpoints, Operations, and story missions. The expansion's story focuses on a previously hidden sect of extremists supposedly lead by Revan, the former hero of the Jedi Civil War who features heavily in the original Knights of the Old Republic game. Players will have to try and put a stop to the sect's plan, which could leave both the Empire and Republic in ashes.
