Pirates of the Burning Sea

Pirates of the Burning Sea is switching over to the free-to-play model. Players will no longer need to pay a subscription fee to play the game, and the game's developers have set up an in-game store, called the Treasure Aisle, where players will be able to purchase additional content. This purchasable content includes NPC allies, pets, treasure maps, clothing, buffs, and more. In addition, players can choose to purchase a premium subscription, called a Captain's Club membership, which provides a variety of in-game benefits and access to premium content for the price of $14.99 a month.

Pirates of the Burning Sea was released by Flying Lab Software in January 2008. It is set in the golden age of piracy, letting players side with England, France, or Spain or chart their own course as independent pirates. More information about the game and its transition to the free-to-play model can be found at its official website.
