Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Games have issued an official press release today that their RPG parody Magicka is entering its closed beta stage, and is seeking gamers who want to participate. Sticking true to the humor the game is going for, the way to join the beta is a little bit unorthodox.

In order to apply for the beta, take a photo of yourself in a robe (bath robe, smoking robe, house robe, Snuggie- whatever works). Next, “Like” the Magicka fan page on Facebook, and post the photo on the Facebook page wall. If you and your robe image are selected, you will receive confirmation through Facebook within 2-3 weeks.

Magicka is a RPG parody for the PC currently scheduled for release in Q1, 2011. Based on Norse mythology, Magicka is all about playing as a sorcerer as you try to defeat an evil wizard either by yourself or with up to three friends. Check out the beta trailer here.
