Codemasters announced its lineup for 2008 today, including a lone role-playing title, Rise of the Argonauts. The title, in development at Liquid Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms, is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2008.

Many of the games scheduled to be released next year by the company are either developed in-house or by North American developers, including Rise of the Argonauts. This focus on North American developers is due to the fact that the company is creating titles that are more popular there than in Europe.

"Over the past two years, we've shifted our content strategy to become more aligned with the U.S. market. We hand-picked the most talented U.S. developers and made significant enhancements to Codemasters Studios and its proprietary middleware, the EGO Engine," said Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters. "We saw the new strategy start to pay off this year with a 332% jump in U.S. sell through and specific success with DiRT and Overlord. Next year we will make an even greater impression on the U.S. games business."
