Last week Atlus announced its plans to become an officially licensed third-party developer for Microsoft. Along with this new partnership, Atlus confirmed that they will be publishing two strategy RPGs, Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3, for North America in 2008.

"We are very proud to pledge our support to the Xbox 360 and to officially partner with Microsoft to bring quality titles to their impressive entertainment system. We are honored to be able to contribute to the Xbox 360 and are eager to deliver the Atlus gaming experience to its owners,"said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Atlus U.S.A., Inc.

Operation Darkness is developed by Success, the creators of Metal Saga, and takes place during an alternate World War II where fantasy has found its way into the universe, much like Level 5's Jeanne d'Arc. Players will be sent on a quest to stop Hitler, along with his army of Nazi zombies, vampires, skeletons, and other various monsters.

Spectral Force 3 is from Idea Factory, whose previous games include Generation of Chaos. The game puts you in the Magic Era of 996. Ten kingdoms of the land are at war, and you are a Norius mercenary. You and your friend Diaz soon become the the leaders of these mercenaries, and as Atlus states it, "And so your adventure begins..."

If you live in Japan or import games, your adventure actually started back in 2006. Atlus has made no announcement indicating if these titles will contain additional content or if they will be the same as their Japanese counterparts.
