The highly anticipated expansion for Phantasy Star Universe, Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus, has finally been given official release dates. The Xbox 360 version will have a worldwide release on November 20, 2007; the North American PS2 and PC versions will also be out on November 20. The European PS2 and PC version will be available by January 25, 2008.
The Xbox 360 version will be available through download only and will require the original PSU disc to work. The PS2 and PC versions will not need the original PSU game and will have exclusive content not found in the Xbox 360 version: offline episode 2 story mode with new voices and cut scenes.
Ambition of the Illuminus continues the story from the original Phantasy Star Universe, taking the story over to the chaotic Gurhal System. Fans awaiting the new expansion can expect to see more enemies, weapons, levels, cities, and a wider variety of character customization.
The Xbox 360 version of Ambition of the Illuminus will be available from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1600 points ($20). The PS2 and PC versions will retail at around $39.95.
