Several weeks ago SEGA of America announced that Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer will be localized for North America. The game is a remake of the original SNES classic and will also include brand new content. Fans of original game can expect to see new content in the form of more monsters, updated graphics and sound quality, a tutorial mode, and three all new areas.

The game is set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan and stars a wandering ronin named Shiren. This wanderer, accompanied by a weasel named Koppa, travels in search of the mystical Land of the Golden Condor which is said to be the home of the legendary city of gold, El Dorado. Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer will be coming out on the Nintendo DS, but a release date has yet to be announced.
