Japanese toymaker Tomy Co. today announced that it will be divesting its entire stake in Atlus, the games outfit responsible for publishing such fare as Disgaea and Tactics Ogre. The shares, amounting to 40.91% ownership of the company, will be picked up by Index Holdings, a mobile and media services developer.

The news cooled all three stocks involved in the transaction; Tomy dropped 15 yen (1.8%), Atlus a single yen (0.2%) and Index a full hundred yen (0.1%). What impact, if any, this will have on Atlus's upcoming plans remains unclear; RPGamer will bring you any news as it occurs.
